Does anyone have any experience with banking cord blood? I know that there are a lot of banks…I would love to hear from someone who has first-hand experience with one of them.

I just stumbled on your message. I haven’t been on the board for a while, so I hope my response is not too late. I was 7 mos. pregnant with my son when my daughter was diagnosed last year. We decided to bank his cord blood because of the diagnosis . . . never thought I would have a need before! We used New England Cord Blood Bank. They are in Massachusetts, which is where we live. They were wonderful throughout the process and helped coordinate everything. They were slightly less expensive than one of the other companies we looked at, but the main reason we chose them is because they store the blood locally (in Newton, MA, I think) rather than somewhere where it would have to be flown up to us if we needed it.
