Ok all my lovely diabetes peeps! I have a question and I know the answer but just looking for the yes, I am thinking correctly.
My basal, carb ratios and correction rates always seem to be in flux. Every two weeks or one week if patterns are happening, I pull reports and make adjustments if needed. Last month when I was in to see my CDE we changed correction from 1:100 to 1:110 due to some major drops when correctly a high. So yesterday I woke at 320 at 8am. (Yes a crazy werewolf nightmare snacking mode & yes turned off the high because I knew what was going to happenš) Pump said 2 units and at 10 am I was 70. So that shows 1 unit is currently dropping me 125? Pretty big drop and pretty fast considering how high I was. So what do you think, try and recreate that situation or make the change. I donāt do those crazy snacking feasts often but it was sure fun! And for the cause of research I could do it again to see if it is indeed a pattern. Crazy thing is what I do now will change Iām sure next month.
My pumpās Wizard seems to shoot for 140 when correcting. Based on that, from 320 it would not be 2 full units. Can I ask, did you only correct, or did you also eat and bolus to cover? I rarely correct outside of mealtime. YDMV though.
I do not suggest making the change based on one episode. There are too many other possible contributors.
My target is 100 so the 2 units are in line w/ current settings. And I agree that 1 time doesnāt warrant a change but the correction ratio just keeps getting more sensitive. And YDMV is such an understatement for all of us. I just sometimes feel like when I finally start getting things in line, something goes haywire.
I didnāt eat due to how high it was so carb ratio & food didnāt play in. And my daily basal totals have also come down 1.0 units for a 24 hour period. Just continues to keep coming down with no diet or exercise changes. Go figure?!
