Decisions, Decisions?

I was on tubed pumps (Medtronic + Animas) for about 5 years before I switched to the OmniPod, which I've been using for almost a year + a half. I absolutely love it. I wear mostly dress pants for work and always needed pockets or had to cut holes in pockets that weren't deep enough to fit the pump. The tube never bothered me, even from day 1, it was mainly having to find somewhere to clip the pump itself. Dresses and skirts were possible with other pumps but so much easier with the pods! I also love the full functionality of dosing insulin from the PDM. I loved the remote of the Ping but hated that you couldn't do anything but bolus from it. Plus when you bolus from the Ping remote, you need to keep it close to the pump until the bolus is finished. With the PDM, as long as it is close to the pod at the start, you can walk away + the bolus will continue. I haven't had many issues with the old pods failing at all. Maybe 2-3 occlusions in 16 months and a handful of failed pods. I can't speak for the new ones yet but I'm hoping to have the same track record with those. I mainly use the pods all over my belly area, lower back and upper butt. Once in a blue my arms but my absorption there is hit or miss. The automatic insertion of the pods is also fantastic. You just stick the pod on your body, push a few buttons on the PDM and the pod is inserted and primed! Let me know if you have any more questions.
