Dex gone AWOL

We have been trying to extend our dex sessions past the 7 day point, and usually we do ok till day 12 or so, at which time we get more of the ??? And hourglass thingy… When there is an AWOL day, she usually ends up low from a correction ( which the high bs was just off). Maybe we should just start switching at day 12 no matter what?? Anyone else with experience day 8 to 12?? Our day 1 to 7 is spot on generally!! Freakish really…

I always change after 7 days because my insurance covers sensors in full. The only time I extend is if I am traveling and have forgotten to bring a sensor or if I have to change early due to my stupidity. One time I knocked a sensor off in the middle of day 2, and because it was my fault, I didn't ask to have it replaced. I ended up wearing the replacement sensor 12 - 14 days and don't remember any problems with readings.

I could do at least 3 weeks with the 7+, but I also can't get more than 12 days with the g4. Plus it is literally falling off of me by then. The g4 has better readings than the 7+, but I wish it would last longer :)

I HOPE you're not correcting from the Dex reading! You should always do a fingerstick, and then correct depending on how the arrow is going. So, for example, if I show a 220, but have an arrow straight down, I'm not going to correct just yet. When the arrow has leveled out is when I would correct. I've had quite a bit of success with using a sensor for 2 testing periods -- when the second sensor change soon notice comes on, I change it. I think that's 14 days, but can't remember!

I could go more than 2 weeks easily with my 7+, but with my G4, I can get about 2 weeks but rarely more before the ??? becomes ubiquitous. As far as I can recall, the G4 remains accurate until the ??? starts showing up, but I haven't tried to rigorously compare days 8-12 compared to, say, days 2-6...
