Hi, my dexcom receiver will not pick up my blood sugar levels when i wear layered clothing when it is cold. Today i had a long sleeve t-shirt and sweatshirt on and i ended up having to replace my sensor on my arm. Does anyone know of a sleeve or something i can put my monitor in and put on my arm under my clothing. Currently i just put in my front pocket on same side i have the monitor in my arm. Thanks dan
1st, I’d like to welcome you to the forum.
As to your issue, how many days was the sensor running? Sometimes my G7s will act up day 8 to 10. Usually I don’t have to change them but at least 2 have giving me a fail message requiring sensor change.
I don’t use the receiver but my pump and iPhone. I rode the last 3 days on bicycles. I was wearing a long sleeved jersey with a cycling jacket with the traditional 3 pockets in the back. My sensor is on my left arm and the phone was in the right pocket for 2 rides.
This morning I wore arm warmers which covered the sensor and the jacket. On this bike the phone is mounted to the stem. I had no loss of signal on any of these 3 rides.
The problem could be where the Bluetooth antenna is. Tandem pumps have it on the front. If the pump turns to face your body, the pump usually loses connection with the sensor. Perhaps this is true with the receiver if it is facing the wrong way.
As to arm bands, I’m not having any luck. The receiver is very small, only 2” wide.
Hi Luis,
Thanks for the information. I appreciate it
Winter is coming cloths and jackets getting thicker. All shortens the Blue Tooth range . Bottom line the closer you can keep the receiver to the Tx the better. Ate you seeing “ signal loss” message or sensor failure message. If sensor failure. It’s not a Blue tooth issue,
