I’ve been a type 1 for 22 years and it’s only been around the last 6 months that I’ve been experiencing this . All day long my day goes quite smoothly and even better when I get my exercise routine in . Here’s the problem, after I take my dinner bolous I get extremly weak , tired , and my feet even start to hurt . Yes I have thought that this was due to high bloodsugar but I don’t think it’s from the bloodsugar cause last night I tested every hour from the time of 7 pm until I went to bed around 11 and the numbers stayed under 180 . I’ve gotten to the point where I try to eat anything that won’t require any insulin for dinner , like tonight I had steamed broccoli with shredded cheddar. I felt great but then I tested and saw that I was 211 so I took one unit to cover that number and then that weakness and fatigued came on .
Maybe your ratio is off, like you need a bit more insulin to “cover” the carbs? Even if it’s not a lot of carbs there’s still some to cover. A lot of times, if I’m eating like a spinach/ broccolig cheese omlette, maybe a small amout of carbs, I’ll bolus for 15-20 to make sure it’s covered.
I am type 1 x 38 years and I find that BS sensitivity changes depending on when and where I take my injection (use novo and lantus pens). The tired s usually about being or going too low or high. I get depressed if I am in the 50's or 60's. I pay close attention to how I am both feeling and thinking. Exercise is key to feeling good for me. Good Luck!
