I purchased a sugar and honey body scrub before my 11 yo reminded me…first three ingredients are sugar sugar and more sugar.
Are these types of products safe
Very poorly, don’t worry about it.
I got a spray tan before a wedding once- the lady said they don’t recommend it for diabetics because its sugar based and can raise blood sugar. I didn’t believe her. It DID raise it though. It went from 120 to 180 and stayed that way for about 8 hours.
That's bizarre. The types of cells your skin is made of are watertight--and they therefore shouldn't absorb sugar.
YDMV, though.
Could it have been inhaled at all because it's a spray? Every Christmas I make marshmallows for my nieces and nephews and dust them with powdered sugar and I swear my bg goes high from the airborne particles. I've never had an issue with a sugar scrub though.
