Does anyone have any ideas regarding how those of us on Medicare can encourage our elected representatives to encourage Medicare to cover sensors? I know that someone posted that he received is Seven+, along with sensors, from the Veterans’ Administration.
Write your Congressman. Look in the Dexcom group, there have been posts with good material to use in appeals when insurance companies have denied claims. Some of that same stuff could be used. I have a Medicare supplemental plan and was able to get the Dexcom & sensors for a year. I am having trouble now - but the trouble is more with supply companies & doctors office. I can’t get them to start the paperwork. I have heard other people say some plans are covering them. I think you basically have to try and go thru the appeal process and present your case.
The day is rapidly approaching when I will be on Medicare. My current insurance covers the Dexcom but if Medicare does not cover something neither will my insurance. A real bummer. I don’t know what I’ll do. I keep hoping Medicare will change before I get on it.

I haven’t even tried getting coverage for my Dexcom and sensors. My secondary insurance agent said other people who are covered by his company have already been denied by Medicare. And it is just like 4xgrandma said “if Medicare doesn’t cover something then the secondary insurance doesn’t either”. Kind of sad, but true.
