Has anyone thought of a starting a Diabetes Cooking Show?
Ya know, someone who cooks low carb food (simple and gourmet) and then gives the complete nutritional breakdown for each recipe. They could even talk about how each recipe affects your blood sugar levels, how long it takes to digest, give total carbs for each meal, how fats and protein affect blood sugars, etc.
Someone mentioned Hell’s Kitchen and reminded me of another cooking show I watch (more like shows -plural- that is). Anything with Gordon Ramsay -Kitchen Nightmares, The F word etc-
Some of his recipes are easy enough for us non-chefs and are really good.
Just don’t ask for ketchup in one of his restaurants or he’ll kick you out (like he did to Charles Barkley).
Funny it makes me wonder sometimes why Nigella never seems to gain weight…she eats so much in her show I envy her… While Barefoot Contessa is a little on the chunky side. The wonders of camera.
Way too funny!!!
I always thought it was strange that my FIL watched Food Network quite a bit since his diagnosis.
Now…humm…I watch it too!!! There is something to this theory.
Guess if I can’t have it I would rather learn the science of it (Alton Brown), or view it as art (Ace of Cakes), or as a game show (any of the challenge shows or the throw downs) OR lastly…beyond sick where it’s not anything I would every eat anyway - 3D’s or that guy who eats mega portions.
BUT I can’t watch the ones with normal people food. That has the opposite affect and I get upset with my strict gluten free low carb diet. But all the rest are fair game for watching
i like watching that one competition show, not iron chef, it’s the one where they make deserts into some sort of cool design. oh food network challenge.
