Update on our end -
The release of DASH was oddly coincident with the release of DIY OmniLoop - or at least the delay of negotiating insurance coverage resulting in our inability to get DASH made the two releases coincident.
We are now OmniLooping and not pursuing DASH. I’m thankful that our request for DASH could not be fulfilled right away because the DASH Pods aren’t compatible with Looping.
Caleb has Looped with Medtronic twice for discreet periods of time. It allowed him to manage his diabetes while he traveled to Europe alone (well not alone, but not with me). He tolerated a tubed pump for the benefits of Looping during those precarious circumstances, but defaulted back to the preferred tubelessless when he returned.
We’re excited to have Loop and tubelessness combined. He’s been OmniLooping for a couple of weeks and the familiar security that the closed loop system provides is a welcome feeling.
