I have a ‘ton’ of G5 sensors. But you also need a G5 transmitter to use them. Which I do not have extra of those. Dex has been stingy with those and they do only last, for me, the 90 days plus a few extra. They have sent one at a time. I suppose I could have bought extra of those but I did not know that at the time.
Maybe I will get a backup 3-pack for the G6 sensors.
My UPS or Fedex is not always reliable.
One picky thing about the G6 receiver. I have to hit buttons one and two and then OK when I have a low or high warning. What is wrong with just a one button hit for a low or high? Sheesh. Just a rhetorical complaint.
Another rhetorical complaint, Why when you’ve hit the 1 then two and acknowledge the low, it goes up a point and then drops a point and you get the same friggin warning lol…
You can also use xdrip+ to reprogram the transmitter date to think it’s new. In fact you, have to do that as part of replacing the battery. After you do that, dexcom app, receiver, and t:slim pump will work with it again, too.
My wife and I had really “good” insurance over many years, and none of them covered us as well as Medicare/UHC Plan F does. And when u are retired it is great to not have to worry as much about medical costs!
Amber Dymkowski (Redirecting...) sells refurbished G5 transmitters for $60. I’m not sure if she’s still doing this, but several months ago, she would also send you a refurbished transmitter for 2 unexpired G5 sensors.
