Generic Insulin

You can read about insulin, drugs, and biotechnology drugs becoming generic in this report.

This report states that insulin is not classified as a biotechnology drug for purposes of getting approval for generics. It really is a boitechnology drug, but the FDA does not classify insulin, glucagon, human growth hormone, etc. It makes me a little nervous that they are not required to do their own tests on gene splicing technologies, but what are you gonna do?

I don’t know how it is in the U.S according to getting medicines from your insurance and so, but here in Venezuela I get both Lantus and Humalog for free, it is sometimes difficult to get them because of the high demand they have, some other times I get a couple… So let me know if you are about to lose control one day so I can send you some to save your life  and btw … dont dare to low the quality of insulin you get because of saving … no way
