Hi,
I'm a first timer here! Thanks for having me! I am in a jam and was wondering if anyone knew of any resources to receive assistance for novolog insulin. My co-pay is ridiculous($539.00/90day supply) and I am on my last bottle. I am on the mini med pump. Any leads will be greatly appreciated!!By the way it is $200.00 for 30 day supply...:(
Are you able to switch brands of insulin? If so, look into Apidra. They have a savings card that is good every month to reduce your copay similar to that of some test strip brands. I switched to Apidra to reduce my copay and actually receive it for free with the card. Another option is novolog does have a one time use savings card. Although it is only one time use, it could still be helpful!
Thanks Courtney! I'm going to ask my Dr. about this!
We have a copay discount card for Novolog. With the card, our usual $35 copay is $0. I signed up online & printed it out.
You can sign up here:

The link for the application is at the bottom of the page.
I would see if your insurance provider has a preferred kind of insulin they want you use. In the past, I've had an insurance company insist that I use Novalog instead of Humalog, since they considered them the same kind of insulin. If I wanted to use the other one, I had a huge co-pay since it wasn't on their official "Formulary" list. If I used the one they wanted me to, than it was much more reasonably priced. Maybe your insurance co. prefers Humalog instead? A lot of times companies will contract with one or the other, kind of like most companies prefer you use a certain kind of meter/test strip. I'd check into that, and if not, see if you can get a discount card for Novalog or Apidra. Keep in mind though, that Apidra can be slightly more fast activin than Novalog/Humalog, so you may need to adjust the way you dose if you end up switching to that. Good luck! That is WAY too much to pay for insulin!
