I’m not on a pump and only bolus dose before meals. I’ve been pretty good at keeping my reading below 180 and above 80. At night I tend to do a steep drop off. I’ve started years ago if my bed time glucose was below 140 to bump it up a little. My choice is either a 1/4 cup of cranberry juice or a tbs spoon of jam. My normal wake up is around 120.
The Biggest trick to all of this is not what works for other people but what works for you.

Bingo John70!!! I think you have given excellent advice! (because it is different for most everyone)
Kind words Terry4 and very much appreciated! Now I must apologize for my digression and the reason for my tears…
“There is a sacredness to tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition and of unspeakable love.”

I have a t:slim with control IQ. After many changes, my endocrinologist and I settled on the lowest basal rate the pump allows (0.1) from 9pm to 3am. Even then, my pump often stops delivering insulin during those hours.
