I’m new here. I’m on an Animas and Dexcom G6. In a couple of days I’m getting a free trial of the Omnipod (available for Animas users.) any tips?

Omnipod pros and cons?

Hey everyone, I am looking into switching insulin pumps. Right now in Canada we have our option of Medtronic 630 or omnipod. I currently am using an older medtronic, but am seriously looking into the omnipod. Can anyone give me the pros and cons of an omnipod? I have read old posts but nothing current. I really am unsure about moving to the 630G, it seem so large, the tslim is possibly on its way here, however it seems to have mixed reviews. What do you podders think of the omnipod?

Switching to omnipod in a couple days from Tresiba looking for some tips on basals

Hi all, I am switching from Tresiba to Omnipod in a couple days. Meeting with my endo and wanted to get ahead of the dosing. If I am taking 16 Units of Tresiba do you merely divide my 24 and reduce by 20% to get your basals? I am assuming you start with one basal before you make schedule? Before Tresiba I was on Lantus 22-24 units. Does anyone have a conversion chart the doctor uses? Would I be better using my Lantus or Tresiba dosing?

Omnipod struggles -infections, bruising and leaking

Hi all, Nearly 30 and have had diabetes 19 years. Was on the Aviva Spirit combo pump for 6 years, and moved onto Omnipod in November 2018. A few weeks ago, I was put onto hefty antibiotics after getting a staph infection in a site I’d just changed. Then, I changed my pump last night and had such intense pain upon insertion - woke up this morning and have such a huge bruise at the cannula end of the pump. When I do change my pump, it always feels/looks like there is some insulin leaking around…
