Help for my dad - tips wanted

Hi, my name is Dawn and I’m the daughter of a great man with diabetes. I wanted to join this site because I live 3000 miles away from him and I don’t know how else to help him than to connect with his community. He doesn’t have access to a computer, really lives off-the-grid, so while this forum would be helpful if he could access it, I thought I could be his helper.


My dad has had diabetes for at least 10 years. He takes Lantus everyday and well, he can't pay for it easily. How do people in the "middle" get help? What I mean as the middle are those people who earn money, but not enough to pay for their own healthcare due to pre-existing conditions, and those who are below poverty limits, get any help? He struggles to pay for his meds every month because my mother has a heart condition and needs expensive meds, too. Anyone have any advice for a daughter who lives far away and wants to help her follks out?

The Partnership for Prescription Assistance works with pharmaceutical companies, doctors, other health care providers, patient advocacy organizations and community groups to help qualifying patients who lack prescription coverage get the medicines they need through the public and private programs.
