Hi all! I've just started taking Symlin a few days ago and received very little information from my Endo (seems to be the trend, unfortunately). I was wondering, if my BG is 250 before breakfast and right before I take the Symlin, should I be correcting as usual or should I cut the correction dose by 50%?
I've not been taking it very long and my endo hasn't been much help either, but the highest I've been when taking it is 185. I took my full dose with correction and afterwords was 153 then 182. Good luck!
My Endo wasn't full of info either. I never cut the correction dose. Business as usual unless my blood sugars are low. In the beginning days (finding the correct dose) of Symlin, I honestly didn't cut any of my insulin doses. When I increased my dose over time, I was able to start cutting my insulin a bit. But never the correction, just my meal bolus. How is it working out for you?
my endo not helpful either. Just started less then 2 weeks. Cut my insulin and wound up with really high sugar so I don't cut anymore either. In fact the opposite is true. I take more
