High BG no matter what!

i take 14 units of actarapid before breakfast, 14 units of novorapid before lunch, 14 units of novorapid before dinner and 22 units of lantus at night (i try to take it at 9:00 pm)
so that adds up to 64 units
i weight in between 62 - 66 kilos (i think that would be 136 and 145 lbs)

Could be hormones. Worse than stress on female BG.

At 310, drink a good bit of water. Definitely open a new vial. Keep testing, deep breaths & keep us posted. It will come down, promise. Have some glucose handy, just in case.

Was thinking the same thing. Sarah is only 17 as well.

just tested now 20 min after taking 6 units and it only went higher. it was 325
should i take some extra units or am i supposed to wait for some time?? please advise asap
thnx

i just changed the vial, what am i supposed to do with the old one (it has around 120-150 units)??

throw away the old vial …did you take the 6 u from the old OR new vial ?? I did not read this anywhere , so I’'ll ask: …did you use the Novo rapid ( fast acting ) NOT the Lantus ?
I am not familiar with the name " actarapid " and don’t worry about explaining right now…go for a walk or jog on the spot instead.

the 6 units i took were from the old one
i used the novorapid (which is fast acting)

i tested 30 min ago and it was 325, how many more units am i supposed to take??

go for a bit of a jog or walk, exercise always does the trick for me

Can you contact a health professional ??

…it seems from this distance , the old vial WAS NOT working .Go slowly girl …6 u would be tooooo much for me , we are all so different ; remember it may take 1/2 hour before you see results.Keep on moving …a bit of yoga to relax ??

just tested now, 291 (1 hour and a half after taking 6 units from the old vial)

Good. It’s going down–slowly, but it is going down. Keep drinking water.

Realize this sounds counter-productive when you’re high, but do eat something. Very low carb–no beans, bread or fruit. Something light, easy to digest with protein. You’re stressed & not eating can cause your liver to dump glucagon. Don’t want that happening.

Take a nice walk (nothing too strenuous), stretch, think calming thoughts.

Keep us posted. We’re here for you.

realllyyy slowly (but glad its gone down, although still high)
is youghurt good? (couldnt think of anything else)
should i have dinner now (its been seven hours since lunch)

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR REPLIES, I DONT KNOW WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT U GUYZ… U R THE BEST!!!
ill keep u updated
Take Care.

tested now again and it gone down to 256 YAYYYY!!
looks like all the extra insulin i took is starting to work now

Try some slow, easy sit -ups…if you injected in your stomach that will help…It does for me, you can try it and drink water…good luck and a warm shower sometimes helps (not hot).

YAY!

Yes, do eat dinner. Don’t eat a lot & keep the meal carb light. For whatever reason this has happened, you don’t need any more spikes from a big carb meal.

Wow that a fair bit of insulin about 1.0 units per Kg per day as much as I take. You may be ill at this moment that would account for the high BG somewhat. Time of month, I am male so dont know if that is a major factor.

It may be that you have developped enormous insulin resistance as I have. Not sure what to do. The obvious is to loose weight but hard if you are constantly starving and poor thing you will be on such a high dosage of insulin believe me.

Adding metformin for some people really helps with insulin resistance not for me I get comatose when on the drug for more that 3 weeks but I am so desperate that I got a month’s worth today.

Go on an extremely low or even better no carb diet until you get this sorted out.

Massive amounts of exercise helps a bit but do no try any till the BG is more reasonable.

Otherwise we should pray I am an agnostic but don’t really have any good alternate plan. Not sure if we are in danger of DKA .

Anybody is this a problem for insulin resistant diabetes taking so much of the stuff?

PS Dont drink any coffee will skyrocket the BG the more so if you are stressed. Do something to destress. Music, diazepam anything that works. Stress at this point will skyrocket BG.

Bloody yogurts are full of corn starch i.e. pure blood sugar, the more so if it is low fat. Get full test sour cream 14% instead. I know saturated fats are bad but corn starch is way worst for insulin resistant diabetics believe me. A low carb diet is better for the cholesterol business than a low fat high carb one for some strange reason. and totally contrary to what the ADA preaches. Remember the most sacred and learned outfit on the earth used to preach that the earth was the center of the universe and if you disagreed they would purify you by burning you at the stake in order to save your soul. Maybe the ADA is trying to save our souls by destroying our diabetic bodies. Well death is one way to cure diabetes.

Corn anything jacks my blood glucose up hard and keeps it there.

Just another thought. Jenny claims and probably correctly that nothing increases insulin resistance as much as high blood sugar, this could account why at times it is skyhigh and no amount on insulin brings it down. Sometimes I inject so much insulin I expect to die from the resulting low but that does not happen it just stay marginally high for a while.

Hey Guyz,
i had a light dinner yesterday, and went to bed with a BG of 212 (it was slowly going down)
GUESS WHAT! it finally came back to normal (well at least now)
i woke up with a BG of 54 treated it ( i made sure not to over treat it), and went out (without my meter)
and when i came back (around 1:00 pm) i was 111…
im so glad im back to normal again
ALL THANKS TO YOU =D =D

Hope u all are doing great
Take Care.
