"I hope we will be able to use genetic information to identify people likely to develop diabetes, and have identified the key environmental factors associated with an accelerated risk of the condition. By 2084 I expect Type 1 Diabetes to have been consigned to medical history, and I hope that Type 2 diabetes will be much rarer and far more treatable."Prof. Mark McCarthy,Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism.
By 2084–not too hopeful.
Yeah, I think I’ll live a long time, but 104 is pushing it… not sure I’d really care about a cure by then!
Still, it’s hope for the world right? Sure we may not be cured but it means eventuallly other people, out children, grandchldren, will not have to worry about the disease!
