I ahve been a T1 for longer than I can remember. Most recently I started on a MM Pump and CGM and this has really helped me to control the highs and lows I've been experiencing for years. During the "training" session with my NP she mentioned that carb counting is the name of the game to better control levels...and a lot of her patients have limited their carb intake to make counting and cotrol easier. I have also done this and with few exceptions I've been able to keep away from potatoes, pasta, rice and bread for over 2 months. I am overweight...and the reduction in carbs had a dramitic effect for the first few weeks...I lost 15lb. However I seem to have hit a brick wall, I still carelfully monitor what I eat, but the weight loss has reduced to nearly zero. Any advice on what I can do. I will admit my exercise regime is very limited, I tend to walk a lot and the weather is gettig to a point now where I can go out on my bicycle some more, however I dont want to over exert myself until I feel a little more comforatble with my size.....
You might need to try different exercises. Sometimes when your body is used to doing something, it doesn't burn calories as quickly because it now takes less effort to perform that task. And the body does naturally have times where weight loss slows/stops, so if this has been a short period you may just have hit a temporary plateau. But the scale isn't always the best judge of progress anyway.
I hate it when people say that, fat makes me gag, but they're right.
Nuts are full of good fats!!
