For example, if you bolus for a meal based on carb intake and then see a double up arrow, do you look at IOB and then bolus for a blood sugar exceeding that above what the IOB will correct. And for a double arrow downward, with a blood sugar of 120 or below, do you program a temp basil rate, and if so using what percentage and for how long or do you suspend the pump. I have had a dex 7+ for a week. I love it thus far, but I’m still trying to figure out the best way to use the trend data. Please share what works. I have determined that my basal rates are correct, but the rise after meals is straight up, and tends to exceed my hi limit which is set for 160. Thanks for any advice.
I discovered the same sharp upward trend when I got my dex, an hour after meals. By 2 hours (when I had tested) it had come back down into range. The solution for me was to pre-bolus. I don’t always because sometimes I’m hungry and don’t want to wait. Try bolusing 10 minutes before you eat, and add to that slowly if needed as you see what the results are.
I rarely get double arrows. If I’m close to my range when I see arrows I give it an hour and it usually comes back into range. Don’t overwork Remember not to correct for a low or high without doing a fingerstick first.
Love, love my dex, the downloaded info gives me so much data to work with to see trends, etc. Enjoy!
