I use 25-30 units humalog per day. When I first got my t:slim pump, I was told to change my infusion set every 3 days and change/fill my cartridge every 6 days. I have done this for 3 years. At times I do waste 20-30 units which I don’t like doing, but I also don’t want to leave same infusion set in place too long.

I just started on the x2 (having been on Medtronic pumps for 20 years), and find the reservoir filling step extremely challenging (I have partial paralysis of my arms and hands due to unexpected complications of a surgery 24 years ago, so that doesn’t help things). So I had the same idea as you did–prefilling several cartridges (on a day when my hand strength was better) and storing them in a ziplock bag in the fridge. That way, when I rn out of insulin, I wouldn’t have to worry whether my hands were up to the task of filling the reservoir.
Did you (or anyone else reading this) ever hear back from your endocrinologist on whether prefilling was a problem?
