i was curious at how often people go to see their endo’s. i go once every six months. is that normal?
I do every 6 months as well…
Every 3 months.
I am on the 3 month plan. However, with discounts and all I often go at the 2 1/2 month mark. It makes me fell more like a man to run to the doc and presnet my discount coupon. LOL
Rick
In the last 3 years I had been going every 3 months but that was because Medicare dictated that rule. Before I was on Medicare it was every 6 months. For years I’ve kept my a1cs under 7% so every 6 months was what my Endo dictated. Now, finally Medicare has decided that every six months is ok.
My regular appointments have been every six months. However, since I started on the pump, he has cut the time to 3 months for a while. He also checks my CareLink statistics every other week and has my pump coach call me with adjustments. Incidentally, it is 150 miles round trip to see him. In northern Wisconsin in the winter that can be dicey.
I go every 3 months
Every three months.
I go every 3 months. Mainly because I have been on the pump for just under a year and I am starting CGMS in the next couple of weeks. Since I do not have a good PCP, my endo would rather see me more often since my PCP always tells me to go ask the endo. Needless to say I am looking for a new PCP!
I go every 3 months
Once a year.
Melissa:
Medicare demands every 90 days. I don"t know if it is because of the pump???
Lois La Rose
right now during pregnancy every 10 days
regularly every 3 months
I get labs every 3 months and see my doc every year, unless something comes up with labs.
I go through all laboratory examinations and see my doctor every three months.
I go to the specialist every six month, but in the meanwhile I go in between also to my housedoctor, so infactly every three months
and once a year to the eye doctor too, and the ““podologe””, ddon’t know the english wrd for it,‘feetdoctor’ to control my feet
Lois I don’t know if you are aware that as of January of this year Medicare says every 6 months is ok. I recently upgraded my pump and Medtronic sent that information.
I go every 6-8 weeks, as that is what is required where I live (Hungary). I only get enough insulin for 8 weeks. So I have to go!
But the visit is short and we don’t do blood work everytime. The endo just checks my log quickly and asks if I have any problems.
Wow must be spill over from the former Commie system. Here in the Nazi part of Canada you are only allowed once a year if your A1c is below 7%. Our government is trying very hard to destroy the health care system. But since you pay 100% out of your own pocket the pharmacist will renew your insulin prescription that way at least we do not die immediately for lack of doctor visits.
Americans should write to their politicians to ask them to ban tar sands oil from their states. This would help the environment and help bring down this super right wing government that kills diabetics.
I go once every three months
