INSANE jump in BG levels when I eat

With those I/C ratios, you are clearly very insulin resistant. Does your BG go back to normal after jumping so high? If so, it does sound like your I/C is correct, but the timing is off. If not, and you need to take a correction to get your BG down, then you may be even more insulin resistant than your 1:2 ratio. Do you notice this more after some meals than others? How long does it take to normalize? Is it predictable or does it vary?

I had something similar happen to me in the past. I found out after a blood test that my white blood count was extremely high because I had an infection in a tooth. My doctor says high BGs always mean there's a reason and more then likely it's an unknown infection. Don't know if this will be your problem but wish you good luck in figuring it out.

There's no harm in trying a hybrid approach with injected basal and Omnipod for bolus. It works well for me and I've read of others taking this approach as well. I just find the basal functionality of the Omnipod unreliable. I write about it in more detail on another thread here: https://forum.tudiabetes.org/topics/first-pump-vacation-ever-since-2008?commentId=583967%3AComment%3A3467967
