Insulin Dependency Reversing?

Dear Elizabeth,

My 7 year olf neice was diagnosesd this year and we are finding it very difficult to handle this as others have a regular sugar etc but she has to control her sugar intake.
I am sure there is a reason that you could revere diabetes?? are you out of insulin completely or maybe only on lantus?
Do you remember any food intake or herb you took prior to your insulin requirements dropping like mentioned??

Please respond to me..

regards

Sadly, the experience of Elizabeth and others who have seen sudden drops in insulin (or even being able stop insulin for a period of time) only seem to be honeymoons. Periods where the autoimmune attack takes a break and you experience what is usually a short period of "getting better." But T1 is relentless and unforgiving. Be clear. We heard a snapshop of Elizabeths story, I would be willing to place money on the table that today she is fully insulin dependent. Her story is best explained by luck and timing, not some repeatable action.

If there was any food, herb or even drug that could stop or reverse T1, everyone here would be all over it singing its praises everywhere. One should be somewhat dubious of anyone who claims they have a cure. Not all foods, herbs or drugs are fully safe. We all desperately want to help others, particularly a child it is very important to make balanced and informed decisions and avoid doing harm.

I get very insulin sensitive to different types of antibiotics, even though its NOT a listed side effect on the one's I've taken, its just how it works for me. Particularly Bactrim and Keflex, if Im on either one of those I have to test even more, and definately be prepared and ready to cut back. Otherwise I'll be around the 40's all day and becomes really hard to to correct those lows. I had two cans of coke while on bactrim and keflex and finaly about two hours later I was in the 70's. It was a nightmare.

Most of you are probably much younger than I am so my story may not be relevant to yours, but since developing menopausal symptoms and hormone fluctuations about 6 months ago, my Lantus dose has been cut in half from 50 units per day to 25 units per day. My carb ratio for dinner has also changed from 1:10 to 1:20. Prior to these changes I saw some pretty scary lows. Of course, with the hormone fluctuations it's hard to hit the right amount consistently so my numbers are still not great consistently but I'm still working on them.

I just thought I'd mention the impact of fluctuations in hormones like estrogen can have on the need for insulin.

thanks bsc

for the sincere caution and smileandnod for details. When its a child i know the growth and may other factors need to be tackled. But I also fail to understand why after so so many years we are unable to find a solution for this. Many innovations are seen round but are not taken to the logical end islet cells, stem cells. My worry is there a lack of consistant focus in the direction of a resolution.

People today survive cancers also which at one time was 100% fatal, due to advancement and I know people who are doing yogas etc. Why is this desease so out of reach of the collecitve intelligence across the world.

Besides a lot about paleo diets and others is published, some herbs like Gymnena Sylvestre others etc which talk suttley about reversals and give all of us the hope.

My worry being if some have been cured but being one off cases have not come out in the open to avoid publicity!.

Trying to trace them with gods grace
