Insulin pump tubing

I dont know why the insulin pump companies have not thought of this or don’t think it is necessary to do this but wouldn’t it make sense if you could adjust the amount of tubing with a little pulley type thing. I agree that the tubing is necessary because people put their pumps in different places but say for example you are like me and clip the pump to your side and have the insertion site on your back, you dont need 23 or 48 inches of tubing, totally unecessary. Why don’t they have a little button where you can suck the tubing in or out depending on the situation. Just a little rant. I know this is attainable and have suggested it to medtronic many times, only to hear that the tubing is necessary because people put the insertion sites on different parts of their bodies. Also, does anybody know of any insulin pumps that have tubing that have the pulley option. I would probably think of switching to them because I hate the tubing. Thank You. Oh, I am aware that the omnipod is tubeless but I dont like it.

Buy a tubeguard. I use it all the time. Some things are worth the extra research

I have never seen these. Does it get in your way at all? Does it automatically give more tubing when you need it? Or do you need to remember to release it when you need more tubing length? I will need to dig into this more. I like the in-between length of tubing, but all Insets offer is short and long. I get the shorter size because the longest one gets in my way. Would love to be able to create a mid-length infusion set.

Sort of like a hose reel!!!
Great idea!!!
I agree because right now I need more tubing so I can reach around to other places, but then what do I do with the extra when I move the site closer?

This is a neat little device. To bad it doesn’t automatically wind up safely and neatly. All in all I would recommend it to any type 1 using a infusion set.
