Quick question to anyone please. Whats your time setting on the Insulin Duration Action on your Omnipod and which insulin your using?
I’m on Humalog, but have been reading around a lot of info on Apidra and it seems worth a try.
2 hours - Novolog
Novolog, 4 hours (although I think it should be shorter but my endo disagrees). I plan to ask about switching to Apidra on my next appointment (in June).
Will this be safe in the POD for 72hrs?

Change the Apidra® in the pump reservoir every 48 hours.
If you check around all insulins are indicated for 48 hors in a pump, but I can assure you that after a year and a half on the pod using Apidra that it works for 3 days.
What are the advantages of Apidra over novolog? I was using humolog but its tir 3 on my insurance so I switched to novolog but it doesn’t seem to work quite as well to me.
I can’t exactly tell you why - but I think I did better on Apidra than on Novolog (which I am using now).
I have never been a “cheap” person - but I got annoyed with the fact that Apedra cost me $10 more a month than Novolog - so I switched - maybe penny wise & pound foolish - think I might switch back to Apedra.
4 Hours - Novolog or Apidra
I use apidra, which I was switched to once I started my pod. It works really fast and I havent had any problems with the insulin going bad. I carry my opened vial with me everywhere. It helps lower my highs quickly and leave the body sooner so Im not having lows as often
