JDRF Advocacy - Indiana - Sen. Richard Lugar

Attention All Diabetics In Central Indiana!

After a February meeting with Democratic Sen. Evan Bayh, we have secured a time on Senator Richard Lugar’s busy schedule. We want to thank him for his past support and impress upon him the importance of his continued support of the Special Diabetes Program and related legislation that’s now pending before both the U.S. House and Senate.

In order to be most impressive to him and his staff, we need to have a sizeable group attend - adults, children, families directly touched by Type 1 diabetes. We especially need children to be there! Weekends are busy times, but children will add to the impact of this meeting. Here are the details:

Date: Saturday, March 13, 2010
Time: 11:15 - 11:45 am
Location: Senator Lugar’s office
10 West Market Street
Suite 1180
Indianapolis, IN

Can we count on you to attend? If so, please respond to Cindy Lorenston Cook at cindy_cook_243@comcast.net
with names & number of adults, number of children, and if any of them are Type 1 diabetics. Due to room size, Lugar’s office is limiting our number of attendees to 25, so decide and respond quickly if you are committed to attending.

If you cannot attend, but wish to advocate for renewal of the Special Diabetes Program, check out the info and talking points available through at this URL: http://takeaction.jdrf.org/site/R. Click on the orange lettering “…view our Action Alerts Page…”, then again on “contact your legislator”. Complete the requested info and you will be ready to make some calls.

Thanks!
