I think it’s really good! Yes, it would be a bit overwhelming to read through after just being diagnosed. I do remember when my husband was first diagnosed the only information I found to read was either way too basic or way too complicated. I seem to remember that most of what I found was aimed at T2s as well.
Shockingly good!
I am so for JDRF - such useful publications.
And SO against ADA - food pyramid and exchanges - no thank you.
That is very good and helpfull.
so having been T1 for over 28 years now i was doubting that this would have anything pertaining to me. well what caught my eye was the “Keeping Your Spirits Up” section. i went right there and started reading. i found it to be poingent without being depressing. someone had stated it earlier in the discussion that going from a child with diabetes to an adult with diabetes can be a really isolating life change. i find solace here on Tudiabetes talking to peers and fellow diabetics. but something about the simplicty of seeing those 1st 2 paragraphs right there in black and white turned on a new light for me. i’ve never felt like “why me” or “it’s not fiar” about my diabetes becuase that’s no solice for me. I felt like that mentality meant i was dealing with my disease in a healthy way. i think now i have been wrong! i think i need to step back and seriously reassess the affect my diabetes has on my mental lhealth.
