Life insurance?

Does anyone know any companies who will sell diabetics life insurance?

I got a term policy through my work. It is fairly reasonable. I’m not sure that you can get it without working through a company though (a group policy type deal).

Here is a link from American Diabetes Association with some tips.

I know that there are some companies that take clinical results into account. So they will determine coverage based on your level of diabetes “control” rather than simply based on the fact that you have diabetes!

thanks for that info

good time for me then because i am very much under control thanks to byeta thank you

I have life insurance which was purchased when I turned 16 - by that time I already had diabetes for 9 years…

They didn’t seem to have a problem insuring me.

My dad (who also has diabetes) just got a 20 year life insurance policy based on his good A1c result! So yes, now would be a good time to get a plan!

Vince,
It really depends on your situation but the most important thing is that your a1c be below 6.5 before you apply. also if you’ve had any spikes above this # you need to control it for 12 months before they’ll get you into their better classes. Also depending on the type of diabetes different companies are better than others. If you want to give me a little info. on what you are looking for I’ll get you some quotes from some companies.
