Even though I am on the 780 insulin pump, I still have low blood sugars even with a temp target. I have heard that vanilla ice cream can digest slowly resulting in stable blood sugars throughout the night. But when I eat it before bed I would go high because that was the only thing I would eat at that time. I read that you can pair it with Greek yogurt to slow down the rise. So last night that is what I did. I had 1/4 cup of vanilla ice cream and 1/2cup of Greek yogurt and voila! No high bloodsugars and no lows through the night. I was kept very stable and slept like a baby! You should try it! It works!!
I am happy that the combination worked for you, although do not be surprised if it does not work every night. So much of what happens during the night can be dependent on what you eat and how much activity you do during the day. Let us know if this continues to work for you.
I increased my AIT in the 780 to 3h 15m as I am still going below 4mmol during the night. I am a very sensitive diabetic. I am it of the norm. My sensitivity is high. I’d rather not have to eat something to keep me level. I need to make the pump work for me.
Lactose in yogurt and ice cream are rapidly converted to sugar. I would not choose those to prevent lows O.N., rather peanut butter is a better choice (a good mixture of fat, sugars, and protein). If you are going low routinely you may want to consider lowering your basel 2 hrs before the low, when the insulin would peak.

I don’t eat that anymore before bed. I know I’m trying to get the timing of my insulin correct with my 780. My active insulin time was too aggressive.
