You’re hardly ever wrong about this stuff
Speaking of orders, I got, FOR THE SECOND TIME THIS YEAR, a double order from Dexcom. I dunno what’s up with them. Not only that, they often cross my wife’s and my account up. I need to send back a faulty xmitter and they send HER a reminder about getting it back for inspection. sigh. we have complained many times over the last 2 years about them confusing our accounts.
what did u hear about G6 and strips?
Did you ask for the G6? I want to opt out if possible
They sent me a 90 day supply two months in a row recently. I just kept them
Last time they sent a double order I called and said,“if it doesn’t mess me up in the future u can just skip my next month’s order”. they said it should be fine, so the next month I didn’t get a shipment, but the following month, true to their word, I got the xmitter and sensors that I was scheduled to get. PS. my orders are monthly, rather than 90-day.
You’re like me, unless the order is completely screwed up, I don’t worry about it. A double order this month has no effect on a non order next month.
No.
I buy strips directly from Accu-Chek using their Simple Pay program
U don’t like the Contour Next line of meters? (Those strips are free thru medicare and ship with the G5, dunno about the G6)
Yes, I started with the G6 one month prior to becoming Medicare-eligible. I’ve been limping along with restarts and a gratis one month set of sensors for two and a half months. I went from the G4 to the G6.
I expect that the G5 will be available at least until the G7 is available and scaled up for Medicare clients.
Sure hope so. My sensors do well and last for 7 days (plus one day to “soak”)
I’ve never used the Contour and I don’t want my strip choice to be dictated to me.
Over 3 years ago (while on the G4), I began experimenting with letting the Dex be my sole source of BG data. I went to the meter only for calibrations and when the Dex was obviously wonky, or during the two-hour warm-up. Results? Slightly better A1Cs, increased TiR, less worry and anxiety with trying to obtain 300+ strips/month.
Today, I use the Accu-Check Guide. and get 100 strips/month. It’s very accurate and the easiest meter I’ve owned for testing on the dark.
When the G6 is working, I never use the meter.
Awesome, thanks for the heads up. Let us know how it works out for you. Some of us on G5 are in no rush to get the G6 and we hope we can delay as long as possible until low BMI patients can get reliable results on the G6
About 6 weeks ago, I received a notification from Dexcom to upgrade my receiver to latest Dexcom version. I called tech support because I was unable to do the upgrade. Dexcom told me there was no upgrade for the G5 and the only upgrade required is going from G5 to G6.
A few days ago the following message started appearing at the top of the page of my clarity reports:
"Updates to Dexcom CLARITY Uploader are scheduled for September 11, 2019 "
Will see what that is all about, but there seems to be a lot of changes in the works at Dexcom right about now.
I bet if u used the Contour Next you’d appreciate it (it’s the highest rated meter), but whatever.
