Now that the TuDiabetes forum is being sunset. My final post is about my journey with the Medtronic 780G that started in February of this year. I really didn’t think there would be that much of a difference in my overall glucose control, but I was wrong. Whatever is under the covers of the Medtronic 780G Smart Guard is different from the programming behind the TSlim Control IQ. My postprandial blood glucose is as normal as it’s going to get for a type 1 diabetic. My time in range is 20% higher than it was using Control IQ (70% v. 90%). I know everybody has their favorite pump and their reasons for loving it, and I was skeptical of the 780G because it felt like I was going backwards to the design of my Animas pump in the early '90s. But what is much smarter is the algorithm that works underneath, and for that, I am now a convert!

I have been on this forum as a member since 2014. It took me awhile to join, but in 2010 it was from THIS forum that I learned about Frio packs out of the UK from a post in January 2010. This was knowledge that even my endocrinologist didn’t have. The Frio packs for my pump and insulin allowed me to go backpacking into the Grand Canyon for a week and allowed me to do more things as a T1D that I ever imagined like traveling for two months. Here’s to the next iteration of TuDiabetes and may they archive these posts so they can still be found! ![]()
Awesome to hear the 780G is working for you. Which sensor are you using with it?
