Medtronic Announces Approval of MiniMed 530G with Enlite

I'm able to use the same reservoir/infusion sets from my 721 with the 530g.

Our insurance company denied this pump for my son because he is not yet 16. Anyone know of any loop-holes or any other posible way to get this pump?

I am STILL waiting for Medtronic to get their STUFF together. I call weekly and keep getting the run around. One of their staff agreed that they sorta have failed in some ways on this "Upgrade" program. I am still looking forward to getting it. Ill let ya know. :)

Illinoisrunner,
I have had the same unfortunate incident with Medtronic. I have waited for over a month for a replacement pump. Not for the upgrade, but just for a replacement pump to use since their pump just "stopped" working. Medtronic has been very unprofessional and not the least bit concerned about providing a quality product for me to care for my diabetes.

I do not have the new pump yet, but I began wearing the new sensor about a month ago. Insertion is less painful, but the insertion device is a little more complicated. I am having trouble getting it to release the “needle holder” once it is inserted.

YOu have to squeeze the button firmly and try to press in the middle of it. squeeze well and then you should be able to lift the inserter straight up and off the sensor. If not, call MM for a replacement. they told me they were having trouble with them.
