My Endo called me in response to the Diabetes Clinic being an exception to trusting the VA Med Center I use for medical care. He claimed that because I eat low carb (90-120 gm/d, really moderate carb), the 780G SmartGuard automode could keep my glucose in Tight Range vs 57% in a Medtronics info sheet.
Anyone on a moderate carb diet have experience with 780G Automode? Makes sense that lower carb results would be better. I usually run greater than 90% TITR and doubt 780G could come close. Just back checking endo’s claim, won’t be giving up Dexcom.

You didn’t say but I’m assuming you are on MDI and happy with it. An AID, any AID, will normally help TIR for a T1 but I don’t know about T2; it seems unlikely that it would be able to improve on 90%.
You can use the Dexcom with other AID systems; Omnipod, Twiist I think. It’s a matter of whether the overhead of dealing with the pump itself is worth it. It is a lot easier to do MDI than deal with a pump, it works a lot less well for us T1s and I find I prefer the pump a lot over MDI, but that’s who I am.
If you are thinking about changing do something that is temporary; don’t pay for a Rolls Royce pump then find it has a 2-stroke Yamaha engine. Go for a prescription pump to see if it works for you.

I use my 780G insulin pump, always in manual mode. I’m T1/LADA last 8 years, after 20 years misdiagnosed as T2.
