Hello all,
Its been a while since I have been on here, been pretty busy.
Anyway just wondering if anyone is buying their own pump supplies? Like the Quick set paradigm 6 mm and the reservoir. I think my supplier is over charging me for these. i think I can come out cheaper if I buy them myself my insurance is not paying well at all. I have found the quicksets for $119.99 for 10 which would last me 30days with no site issues. so we are looking at $360.00 for a 90 day supply. wonder if the insurance company would help out if I can save us both money?
thanks for your input
Chuck
It certainly wouldn't hurt to ask your insurance company.
Usually the insurance company will contract for a lower price as BCBS does with Minimed with my insurance. I get all my supplies from them with a co-pay. For a three month supply I get 4 boxes of sets and 4 of reservoirs. My payment to Minimed after insurance is about $95 dollars.
My insurance contracts with Libery, and my copay after insurance is around $65 dollars, but I also have a secondary insurance too that picks up that cost.
my part after insurance is 900.00 and up...... BCBS of Arkansaw. for 3 months supply needles to say I am not happe I may have to go back to 9 shots aday if this keeps up !!! :-(
Wow if your insurance wouldn't help out, you might be better off if you can, paying out of pocket with the other supply company. Insurance all depneds on what the employer puts together as a package. Sounds like your plan is kinda a basic straight forward plan with not a lot of extras to it. Like I said it certainly wouldnt hurt you to contact them, see what they say, otherwise, I guess you have two options, pay out of pocket, because its still cheaper than what you are paying now, or I guess go back to MDI, although I feel for you, after being on a pump that would not be a choice I'd want to make.
