Mixing insulin - type 1

Great news. Thank you for the info!

There are still premixed syringes of insulin that used to be prescribed, I started off that way when I was diagnosed ten years ago. My nurse moved me to the individual syringes as it gave better control, I took Novorapid and Levemir, mixed then individually, moved on to Toujeo and now Tresiba. If it works for you and your doctor is happy why fix what isn’t broke? Also, as the long acting insulin when taken separately from rapid is only once a day, though some split the dose, adults, not children, should be taking our insulin before meals only?

I’ve known Pediatric families that were taught to mix their Lantus with the fast acting to minimize shots for infants.
