Using Humalog with Humulin N?

Does anyone here, know of,using humalog and humulin N together??????
There's a lady that i know,shes been a diabetic,as long as i have,her specialist,put her on these two insulins!But,i was told a few months ago,by my family doctor,you couldnt do such a thing?
She takes both inthe am,then her humalog at noon, humalog at supper, and another shot of humulin n before bed.
I myself take humulin n just before bedtime, and take lantus at the am with humalog.
can someone please give me some feedback??????
thank you.

Many people use NPH with Humalog. In fact, they can be mixed int the same syringe together, and there are combination insulin pens made with Humalog and NHP (by Lilly).

Ditto . . . Before Lantus came out Humalog and NPH was one way to go, it's what I did. I switched to Lantus about 7 years ago.

Same here - when I was on injections I started on Humalin N (aka NPH) as my basal insulin, then moved over to Lantus to try to level things out. My bolus insulin has always been Humalog.

Now I'm happily pumping with Humalog.

Not a problem mixing Humalog and NPH. I did it 15 years ago. Just remember clear to cloudy.
