Nasty pants

Don’t you hate it when you inject through your clothes and you get a huge blowout? Thank goodness I almost always wear black pants. Otherwise, I’d have a two inch blood stain on my right outer thigh.

Granted, I inject large quantities of insulin (my Lantus basal injection is currently 55 IU) but it seems that no matter what I try, every few days I hit a gusher and end up a bloody mess.

Do people like me ever get to wear light-colored clothes? My T0 boss wears white pants to work almost every day and I just shake my head. There are no “summer whites” in my near future unless I want to do every injection in the ladies room with clothes drawn aside and a bundle of gauze pads and alcohol prep pads on hand. How boring is that?

Oh, well, I guess I’ll have to get over it. At least I have access to copious amounts of insulin, right? Some diabetics are not so lucky.
