I had my bloodwork done last week and went to my endocrinologist this afternoon to find out the results. My first a1c after being diagnosed was 5.7 and that was during a time when I experienced a lot of lows. I’ve gotten my lows under pretty good control and was expecting a slightly higher number this time. I was at 5.5! I am so stoked, I try so hard for good control with injections and these numbers keep me going. I’ve always been pretty competitive with myself, especially in horseback riding. Always trying to do better than the last time and whatnot. It’s showing through in my fight to control my diabetes, and I feel like, for now, I’m winning.
