New Implant Device for T1

I found the article interesting to read.

Did a survey on this concept. There is zero chance I would walk around with this thing under my skin. It makes me sick just thinking about it. I don’t know how well the other similar device is doing, but it’s a huge no for me.

Using the word islets are these all 4 glucoregulatory cells? If so this could be a real breakthrough as there is feedback between the cell types in a healthy fully functional endocrine pancreas, especially between the Alpha and Beta cells.

Thank you for sharing this! Interesting!

If the implant allowed me to be injection free and have perfect BG control I would easily get one implanted every 6 months as long as it was a simple outpatient procedure. This is nothing compared to having to deal with all the issues of a closed loop insulin delivery system.

I considered this for a study, but t does require immune suppression. So I decided to not go with it. When they can eliminate this issue, I’ll happily do it
