I’d been using Novolog 70/30 for about 14 years, worked fine, but I wanted to try something diffrent. I started using Lantus about 3 weeks ago, I had lots of highs as well. I gave my body time to adjust to the new medication. My doctor and pharmacist had originally prescribed me to take 30 units of Lantus in the morning and 4 units of Novolog 3x a day before meals. I adjusted it a bit because I felt that my BS spiked over night.
So now I take 30 units of Lantus in the morning, 5-8 units of Novolog before meals and 15 units of Lantus at night. This regime has been working well. BS range from 90-160 throughout the entire day.
