I'm so sorry about how you're feeling right now. We've all been there and can empathize. Trust me, it does get better, however, especially once you develop the knowledge and skills to manage this disease.
As others have mentioned, get yourself a meter and start to test 2hrs after eating and eliminate foods that cause you to spike. Don't worry about "counting calories," just eat the foods that cause the lowest rise in blood sugar and until you feel full.
What you'll find is that you'll develop a personalized meal plan that best suits your metabolism - and the best part is that you'll lose weight in the process without really even trying. Stay away from anything labelled "low-fat" (it's full of sugar) and enjoy real food like meat, eggs and natural, healthy fats like butter, cheese, cream, avocado and almonds. You'll also be surprised as to how your lipid profile improves.
By managing your blood sugar spikes everything else will follow.
