Hi everyone. Ive just started using victoza last july 1 2013. First week was .6 dose now im on 1.2 my bs is constantly on 85 since i started using it and thats good and my doctor says i have to lose weight and i want to also the problem is with victoza seems like im always tired and sleepy and i hate that feeling also will i be able to lose weight on this even if i dont get to excercise? My chiropractor forbids me from any excercise until i finish hip therapy from a muay thai injury for about 6mos.
Alda,
Good luck with the Victoza. I lost about 10 lbs on it when I first started it but that stopped. I can only take .06 and only every other day. If I take it everyday it makes me throw up. Just now I threw up three days of food. ugh! And that is with only taking it every other day. I've tried not to use it at all but he does keep my BS down, most mornings that i use it my BS will be around 100 or less.
Dee
Good luck! I started using Victoza at the end of last August. My bs control is fine (as it was before - I shifted from Actos to Victoza in an attempt to lose weight), and my appetite decreased significantly; I ended up losing around 40 pounds (initially at upper 170s). I exercise almost every day, but that was true before starting Victoza. The weight loss, it would appear, was 100% driven by Victoza.
I only take the 1.2 ml dose; couldn’t tolerate 1.8. Nearly one year after starting on Victoza, I still feel more tired than pre-Victoza. But this state of being more tired is less than when I started last August and September. I hope things will improve for you also on the ‘being tired’ front.
Hi dee thank u for taking time to read my post. I get feedback mostly from u guys. and im so sorry to hear it makes u that much sick. I dont vomit on it but i get really tired.
Hi diagnosed im glad to hear u lost ao much weight and that victoza got better in time for u. I hope it does for me too. Also thank u for taking time to read my post. Ur reply is very muxh appreciated.
I've been on Victoza 8 weeks. I noticed a big decrease in side effects at about the 6 week point. No more nausea. No more extreme tiredness. However, the constipation is still ongoing. I also went up too quickly. My endo backed me down to start the climb up to a higher dose more slowly. Not everyone can go up after only a week. Hang in there. It gets better. At the two week point where I you I wondered if it would get better, but it did for me.
Thanks flem thats very encouraging. Im wondering did u lose weight on victoza?
I forgot to mention that constipation was also an issue for me. Stool softeners fixed that; I continue to take them every day.
I lost 5 pounds the first week I was on Victoza. Then it slowed down; I think primarily because the Victoza made me so tired I didn't exercise. I felt like I deserved a medal for getting to work for awhile. Now that I'm not so tired and am exercising it is picking up again. I know my appetite has decreased; I'm eating less at meals and am not hungry between meals now.
Stool softeners did nothing for me so now the doc has me on some medicine for constipation.
Thats very good to hear hopefully when im done with hip rehab i can excercise too.
