Not a good year

This year 2012 has not been a good year for me health wise. I am 59 yrs oldb and have type one diabetes since 1956, now 56 and 3/4 yrs. last June I found out that I have blood cancer, and have been in treatment of chemo and blood transfusion once or twice a month. Been having chess pains since June and felt that it was the cancer. After the transfusions the pain would go away. So had a cath done into the heart, and now tomorrow I will have a triple by pass. I DO FEEL VERY MUCH ALONE, EVEN THROUGH MY WIFE HAS BEEN A GREAT ENCOURAGEMENT TO ME, AND WILL BE THERE FOR ME. THANKS FOR ANY HELP DENNIS

Dennis, my thoughts and prayers to you, your family, and all who are on the team working on you tomorrow.

So sorry for what you're going through. Understand feeling alone & scared. Grateful you have a loving wife.

Hi Dennis,

I had a kidney transplant just over a year ago and prior to the transplant, my was in extreme mental and physical pain. Although I have a fairly big family, nobody ever contacted me to see how I was. My husband couldn't understand it, so I isolated myself and went into a deep depression, similar to the one you are experiencing. I never felt so alone and desperate and I can understand what you are experiencing. Nobody understands the pain and anguish a person goes through with this type of surgery. I got to the point where I completely lost my faith in God, and I didn't know whether I would survive the surgery. Then, I realized all sorts of people praying for me. People I didn't even know were praying for me - through this site, and through other websites and support groups. It encouraged me to be strong and that's what got me through the surgery. Just realize that you have all sorts of people who will be praying for you tomorrow. There are many people who care. Stay positive and be strong. Have faith.

Dear Dennis....I'm so very sorry to read that you are faced with so many challenges. I don't claim to understand why....nor can I say that I understand what, but I sympathize, and offer you my support and my prayers. Know that today, tomorrow and the after....you, your family, your medical team are all kept in prayer. You ARE NOT ALONE Dennis.
Thank God for your supportive and loving wife....and know that this family, your Tu. family is thinking of you and praying for you in each his or her own way.

Dennis, the surgery might make a huge difference in how you feel.
I was on dialysis for 14 months a couple of years ago and got NO support from my family. But that's just how it was. I got a ton of support from my friends here at TD and am so grateful.

Dennis, hope you are continuing to heal, sending out some fresh hugs to you and the family.

Yes, Dennis. Here's to a wonderful (at least way better,) 2013 for you. Thanks, Marie, for bringing Dennis back into our thoughts.

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. I am feeling better now than I have in the last two years. My cancer is under control, went to Johns Hopkins yesterday and my blood levels are up to 12.6 which is the highest it has been for 4 yrs. I FEEL SO GOOD!

Oh Dennis, that's great, wonderful news, Happy New Year!

So glad!
