Does anyone know if olives directly contribute to the lowering of your sugar numbers? I’ve been having some with either soup, salad, or sandwich lateley & have been noticing that about 2 hours later, my numbers are really low. 62, 68, 74. I’m Type 2 on 500mg of Metformin/day & was under the impression that it wouldn’t allow my numbers to get that low. I’m just wondering if it’s the olives or time for me to stop using Metformin as a crutch & get off of it.
Olives are just low carb. If you were using them IN PLACE OF a higher carb food, then the numbers would go down. But having some with your usual food doesn’t attribute specialness to them. I list them as one of my “can eat” foods! YUM.
plus, they are yummmy.
I love them! I’ve been trying to aviod potatos like the plague because that’s my downfall food. Olives are making that a bit easier.
