So, I’ve figured out how to “set up” bolus presets, but I haven’t figured out how to actually USE THEM! I.E., I have bolus presets created that give .05 u all the way through 1.0 “extra”. But I don’t see anywhere how to actually USE those presets.
I’m not sure I’m understanding your question. What do you mean by “bolus presets”? The different basal rates you set set at different times throughout the day and night?
Or are you talking about temporary increased and decreased basal rates? For temp. basals, I just key in what I feel would work best at the time, e.g. a 25% increased basal rate for 4 hours, or a 10% decreased basal rate for 6 hours, or whatever…
So, the question is: How do I actually “use” the bolus presets…if I want to add an additional .10 to a meal by using this method…how do I actually do it?
Sorry, I can’t help you there. I’ve never seen the need to use that option. I simply count the carbs, see what the Bolus Wizard says, and add or subtract a little based on past experiences with a particular meal or whether something especially physical is coming up, etc.
Just curious: why/when would you use these “preset” increases?
My guess would be using this function for the same cases that you make “educated guesses based on past experiences” for? Say, I bolus too little and I see a rise I don’t like. I could click .05 or .10 more and vwhala…stop a steep incline/level off the arrow. That’s what I would think it would be for and why I would use it.
