Pizza

I find it best to find one kind of pizza you really like and that is convenient to your home, and then learn how that particular pizza affects your blood glucose levels. I also like pizzas that have a lot of cheese and topping, such that I end up eating half or less of the crust underneath. Eat a salad beforehand too, to make you feel more full before you start in on the pizza.

I’m so glad you asked this question! Its funny because when I was first diagnosed, I was warned about pizza  It totally sneaks up on me. I also follow the Calorie King suggestion, but its always hot or miss. The last time I had pizza, I checked my BS at 2 hrs, and everything seemed okay ( I was at 133) but then at 3 hours, I jumped to 200. Ugh. And boy do I love pizza… it really is a science experiment (and totally worth it!)
