Did my 90 day yesterday, 7.0, down from 9.5 when assigned insulin three months ago. Actual weight gain was 23lbs according to Dr.'s records and scales. I pointed out that my #s had been good since I’d went down to <30 grams of carbs per day. He cut my toujeo to once per day at half my former level. I suggested that I re-start my metformin regieme, and he agreed. I requested that he fill out a form requesting info meetings with D specialists. He said, “Oh, I thought we did that already”. He sent in the form, and they will get in touch with me. Now, I have to deal with that annoying 23 lbs.

we are similar in weight gain and 90 days…I started insulin Oct 18 2016 so actually 5 months ago already! I gained 15-20 lbs within the first 3 weeks on insulin. I am trying to walk more each day and also do yoga 5-6 days per week…still very hard to lose this weight…nice drop in your A1C…mine went from 12.5 to 8.2 in 3 months…

I gained around that after starting insulin, as well - though I didn’t get the right advice at that point, either and ended up gaining even more weight before I really ‘attacked it.’ My A1c went down from 11.8 to 5.3 in that time, but the weight gain was the price. I’ve managed to lose half the weight I’d gained, but still have a long time – and, yes, it has been very difficult!
