If I suspect the Dexcom is off, I will do a finger stick. My One Touch averages have been in line with my A1C with testing 10 times a day. Mostly I would not bother when it is lower to mid range blood sugars. I find the Dexcom can be way off on high blood sugars - and sometimes reads way higher than my meter. That being said there are times when they are right on! So - I will continue to use both to correct. The Dexcom gives me the trend of whether I am going up or down. If I am going down and the fingerstick says I am high - I will not do a correction.
